About us
The Wiltshire Ability Counts Football League is an inclusive football initiative providing opportunities for individuals with disabilities to engage in competitive football across Wiltshire.We are dedicated to fostering community, skill development, and a love for the game, the league ensures everyone, regardless of ability, can enjoy the thrill of football in a supportive environment.With a commitment to growth and inclusivity, we continues to break barriers, enabling players to thrive both on and off the pitch.Our mission is to continue to grow disability football in Wiltshire and offer an environment where competition and community can thrive.-----------------------------------------------------------Reformed in 2023, The Wiltshire Ability Counts Football League has seen a steady growth in the number of teams and players that have competed since its reinception.Starting with 3 teams for the 2023/24 season, the league saw a return to action in September, the first league fixtures since before the COVID-19 pandemic.Highworth Town Ability Counts, Stratton Juniors Ability Counts and Swindon Town Super Robins were the innagural members who faced off at 6 fixture days throughout the season, joined towards the end of the season by Bishops Cannings Ability Counts.Stratton Juniors Ability Counts were crowned as the first Wiltshire Ability Counts League champions since 2019, with Swindon Town Super Robins finishing in second and Highworth Town Ability Counts finishing the season in third.-----------------------------------------------------------In the second season since reforming, we welcommed Bishops Cannings Ability Counts to take part in their first ever competitive fixtures, along with the three teams from the previous season.Such as with the 2023/24 season, towards the end of the season we were joined by a new team. Salisbury Tigers rejoined the league for the first time since 2019 and played in their first friendly fixtures in nearly 6 years.The league ended its season at the home of Wiltshire FA, Green Lane, with a fantastic day which saw 3 teams still in contention to win the league.
Stratton Juniors Ability Counts were victorious again, lifiting the league winners trophy for the second season in a row, with Highworth Town improving on their 3rd place finish from 23/24 to finish 2nd, swapping places with Swindon Town Super Robins who finished 3rd.
Bishops Cannings Ability Counts finished the season in 4th place.-----------------------------------------------------------For the 2025/26 season, The Wiltshire Ability Counts Football League will continue the growth it has seen over the past two seasons.
